Mehenot Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mehenot (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a platform connecting individuals and businesses in Bangladesh with part-time, one-day, contractual, and skill-based job or service opportunities. By accessing or using Mehenot, you (“user” or “you”) agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

Please read these Terms carefully, as they affect your legal rights and obligations. Mehenot reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, with material changes communicated through email or a notice on our platform.

2. Eligibility

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to register or use Mehenot.
• Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration and throughout your use of the platform.
• Compliance with Laws: You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Mehenot complies with all applicable local and national laws, regulations, and ordinances.

3. Account Creation & Security

• Registration: Certain features may require creating an account (e.g., via Google sign-in) to post or apply for jobs, offer or purchase services, or access additional functionalities.
• Responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Suspension/Termination: Mehenot reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion if we suspect fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity, or any violation of these Terms.

4. Nature of Service

• Facilitator Only: Mehenot is not an employer or direct contracting party; we only provide a platform to connect job posters, service providers, and job seekers.
• No Guarantees: We do not guarantee that users will find employment, secure candidates, or successfully complete transactions through the platform.
• Independent Responsibility: Users act as independent parties. Mehenot is not responsible for user interactions, negotiations, or agreements.

5. Posting Jobs & Services

• Authentic Listings: All job postings and service offers must be accurate and lawful. Fraudulent or misleading content is strictly prohibited.
• Verification: While we strive to detect and remove suspicious postings, we cannot guarantee every post’s authenticity. Users must exercise due diligence when engaging with job offers or services.
• No “Pay for Job” Requests: Never pay anyone who claims they will provide you a job or service solely in exchange for upfront fees. Mehenot is not liable for any financial loss resulting from such requests.

6. Service Providers

• Offer Skills Responsibly: Describe your skills and rates accurately, whether you provide labor, creative, technical, or any other kind of service.
• Independent Contractors: Being hired through Mehenot does not create an employer-employee relationship. Mehenot is not responsible for employment benefits, taxes, or insurance.
• Quality Assurance: Service providers should deliver their services in a professional manner. Disputes regarding quality or scope of work must be resolved directly with the hiring party.

7. User Conduct

• Prohibited Content: You may not post or share content that is fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or violates any law.
• Respectful Interaction: Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior based on race, gender, religion, or any protected status is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination.
• Compliance: You are responsible for adhering to all applicable employment and commercial laws when posting or applying for jobs and services.

8. No Payment Handling

Mehenot does not provide a payment gateway or escrow service. Any financial or payment arrangements are made directly between job posters and job seekers/service providers. We are not responsible for resolving payment disputes or ensuring the safety of monetary transactions. Always proceed with caution when handling finances.

9. Intellectual Property

All platform content—logos, design, trademarks—belongs to us or our licensors. User-generated content (such as job descriptions, service listings, or portfolio items) remains your property, but by posting, you grant Mehenot a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating our platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

• No Warranty: Mehenot is provided “as is” and “as available,” with no warranties, express or implied, regarding the platform’s performance, accuracy of listings, or availability.
• Fraudulent Posts: We are not liable for any financial losses or damages arising from fraudulent or misleading user-generated posts. We encourage you to report suspicious content and practice caution.
• Disclaimer: In no event shall Mehenot be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform, including loss of income or goodwill.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services or for legal reasons. If changes are material, we will notify you (e.g., via email or an announcement). Continued use of Mehenot following any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising under them are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. All legal actions or proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Bangladesh, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
