These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and mehenot ("we", "us", or "our") — a sole proprietorship registered in Bangladesh under trade licence APPT/DNCC/011093/2026 (Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC)) — which owns and operates the website at mehenot.com and the mehenot Android app (together, "the Platform").
mehenot is the business you are contracting with. Its trade licence, TIN and payment-gateway merchant account are registered under the name SaasVentur — the registered name of the same sole proprietorship. Both names mean the same business, and an obligation owed by one is owed by the other.
By accessing and using the Platform, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Delivery Policy, which form part of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

One person, one account, your own identity. An account on mehenot belongs to one real person, is opened with that person's own name, NID, passport or other ID, and is used only by that person. In particular:

Where we find accounts that are opened with borrowed or collected IDs, controlled by someone other than their owner, or run together to game the platform, we close every linked account at once, hold any money in them while we find out who it belongs to, and may report the matter — including the identity documents involved — to the police and other authorities in Bangladesh. The person whose ID was used is not punished for someone else's misuse of it if they report it to us.

Please be aware that fraud can occur on freelance platforms. mehenot strongly recommends using milestone-based payments to protect both clients and freelancers.

Platform fees: mehenot charges the freelancer a 10% service fee on each payment they receive through the platform. Clients pay no platform fee: a client pays the agreed price of the job and nothing on top. Founding members (the first 1,000 accounts) pay a reduced rate of 5% until 31 December 2026. Any change to fees is announced in advance on the platform and takes effect only for payments made after the announced date.
mehenot credits: mehenot credits are a prepaid licence to use mehenot's own features — mehenot AI, extra service slots, and settling service fees owed to mehenot. Credits are not money, a deposit, or stored value on your behalf: they are not electronic money, not a mobile financial service account, and not a wallet. Credits cannot be withdrawn or cashed out, cannot be transferred to another account or user, and cannot be used to pay a freelancer — payment for freelance work is never made in credits. Once delivered, credits are non-refundable except for a failed or duplicate charge, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
⚠️ Platform Liability Disclaimer
mehenot is not liable for: Payment disputes, fraud, non-payment, incomplete work, or any financial losses resulting from transactions between users. The platform provides tools for milestone tracking and communication. Unless a payment is made through mehenot's payment partners and held by mehenot as described above, payment transactions are conducted directly between clients and freelancers, and mehenot's responsibility for money it holds is limited to what the Refund & Cancellation Policy provides. Users are solely responsible for verifying the legitimacy of other users and conducting due diligence before entering into agreements.
Users are prohibited from:
Sabotage and manipulation. These are treated as fraud, not as a listing problem. We do not have to warn first: every account involved can be suspended while we look, and fake orders, cancellations, and reviews that came from manipulation are removed so they no longer count against the person who was targeted. Being an agency, an employer, or acting on a manager's instruction is not an excuse.
mehenot is a work marketplace for Bangladesh, and we keep it deliberately clean. The following content is not accepted anywhere on the platform — in projects, services, cover images, titles, descriptions, portfolios, profiles, or messages:
Quality standards. Listings must also be understandable and honest. We may ask you to fix a listing that has an unclear or misleading title, a description that does not make sense, contact details or external links inside the text or the cover image, a low-quality or unrelated cover photo, a price that does not match the work, or claims you cannot prove.
Review and enforcement. Projects and services are reviewed by our moderation team before they go live. We may approve a listing, ask you to make changes, reject it, or remove it after publication. You will be told the reason, and in most cases you can fix the listing and resubmit it. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or permanent removal of your account, at mehenot's sole discretion. This list is not exhaustive — we may refuse any content we consider unsafe, unethical, or damaging to the platform.
Work delivered by freelancers remains the property of the client upon full payment. Freelancers retain the right to showcase completed work in their portfolios unless otherwise agreed.
In case of disputes between clients and freelancers:
How we decide. Raising a dispute is free, and money held for the job is frozen as soon as one is opened — nothing is released while it is being looked at. Both sides are asked the same question in the dispute thread and have three working days to reply; no reply means we decide without them. The decision and its reason are written in the thread and emailed to both sides; the money moves 3 days later. Within those 3 days either side may ask once for a second look, which a different member of our team decides; that decision is final and takes effect at once. A job the client has approved cannot be disputed — approval is final. We can only judge what is on mehenot: messages (including earlier versions of edited messages), files, milestones and timestamps. Work agreed or delivered elsewhere is work we cannot confirm arrived.
Dispute charge. When a dispute is decided, the side found at fault pays 3.5% of the job value — 1% for the platform's work in reviewing it, and 2.5% for the processing charge our payment gateway keeps whether a job succeeds or collapses. It is recorded as an amount owed on their account, payable later, and cleared before they take on or post new work. If the freelancer was at fault the client is refunded in full, processing charge included; if the client was at fault the freelancer is paid in full less the usual 10% service fee. Nobody owes it for a split both sides agree to, a dispute withdrawn before a decision, a job neither side is clearly at fault for, or a problem mehenot caused; in a split the refunded part comes back less the 2.5% processing charge on it. A freelancer who cancels after being paid owes the 2.5% processing charge. A refund is never reduced by the 3.5% dispute charge. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy §12.
Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute between you and mehenot about the Platform, are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka have exclusive jurisdiction.
mehenot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for our services.

Users acknowledge that they use the platform at their own risk and are responsible for conducting due diligence, verifying user identities, and using milestone-based payments to minimize risks.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting on this page, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
