1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using mehenot ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

mehenot is a freelancer marketplace platform that connects clients with verified freelancers in Bangladesh. The platform facilitates:

• Project posting and application management
• Service creation and ordering
• Contract management and milestone tracking
• Payment processing and dispute resolution
• Communication between clients and freelancers

3. User Accounts

To use our services, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. User Responsibilities

For Clients:

• Provide clear and accurate project requirements
• Pay for services as agreed in contracts
• Respect freelancers' time and expertise
• Provide constructive feedback and communication

For Freelancers:

• Deliver work according to agreed specifications
• Meet project deadlines and milestones
• Maintain professional communication
• Provide quality work that meets client expectations

5. Payment Terms & Fraud Prevention

Milestone-Based Payment Best Practices:

• Break work into small milestones: Divide projects into smaller phases (e.g., 10%, 30%, 60%, 100%) rather than paying or working on the entire project at once
• Pay as you go: Clients should pay for completed milestones only. Avoid paying the full amount upfront
• Work progressively: Freelancers should complete and get paid for each milestone before moving to the next phase
• Verify before proceeding: Both parties should verify milestone completion before releasing payment or starting the next phase
• Use platform tools: Utilize mehenot's milestone tracking system to document progress and payments

Payment Methods:

• Payments are processed directly between parties using methods like bKash, Nagad, or bank transfers
• mehenot does not process payments but provides milestone tracking tools
• All prices are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT)

6. Prohibited Activities

Users are prohibited from:

• Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Engaging in fraudulent activities, scams, or deceptive practices
• Requesting or accepting full payment upfront before work completion (use milestones instead)
• Completing all work before receiving any payment (use milestone-based payments)
• Violating any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringing on intellectual property rights
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• Circumventing platform fees or policies
• Sharing personal contact information before contract creation
• Publishing listings, images, or profiles that promote, encourage, or assist any violation of these terms or of the law
• Using mehenot to advertise an unrelated brand, product, or website instead of offering your own work

7. Prohibited & Restricted Content

mehenot is a work marketplace for Bangladesh, and we keep it deliberately clean. The following content is not accepted anywhere on the platform — in projects, services, cover images, titles, descriptions, portfolios, profiles, or messages:

• Music and audio entertainment work — songs, lyrics, beats, vocals, instrumentals, mixing, mastering, and similar musical production
• Unethical work — anything designed to deceive, exploit, or cause harm to another person, business, or community
• Content that promotes violations — encouraging, glorifying, teaching, or assisting law-breaking, violence, hate, or harm toward any person or group
• Academic dishonesty — exams, assignments, or theses written on someone else's behalf
• Adult or sexually explicit content of any kind
• Fake engagement — fake reviews, followers, likes, ratings, or the buying and selling of accounts
• Hacking and surveillance — hacking, breaking into or "recovering" someone else's account, spying, stalking, or tracking services
• Illegal or regulated activity — gambling and betting, drugs, weapons, unlicensed financial services, fake documents, NID or certificate tampering, carding, and money laundering
• Income schemes — MLM, referral-earning programs, "earn money daily" offers, and any listing that asks a worker to pay a registration, training, or security fee
• Piracy — cracked software, nulled themes, and reselling other people's paid courses or copyrighted material
• Impersonation — using another person's or brand's identity, name, or work without permission
• Spam and data harvesting — bulk SMS or email blasting, and collecting people's personal data without their consent

Quality standards. Listings must also be understandable and honest. We may ask you to fix a listing that has an unclear or misleading title, a description that does not make sense, contact details or external links inside the text or the cover image, a low-quality or unrelated cover photo, a price that does not match the work, or claims you cannot prove.

Review and enforcement. Projects and services are reviewed by our moderation team before they go live. We may approve a listing, ask you to make changes, reject it, or remove it after publication. You will be told the reason, and in most cases you can fix the listing and resubmit it. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or permanent removal of your account, at mehenot's sole discretion. This list is not exhaustive — we may refuse any content we consider unsafe, unethical, or damaging to the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

Work delivered by freelancers remains the property of the client upon full payment. Freelancers retain the right to showcase completed work in their portfolios unless otherwise agreed.

9. Dispute Resolution

In case of disputes between clients and freelancers:

• First attempt: Direct communication between parties
• Second step: Platform mediation and support
• Final resolution: Arbitration in accordance with the governing law mutually agreed in the contract

10. Limitation of Liability

mehenot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for our services.

Specifically, mehenot is not liable for:

• Fraud, scams, or deceptive practices by users
• Payment disputes between clients and freelancers
• Non-payment or delayed payment by clients
• Incomplete or unsatisfactory work by freelancers
• Financial losses resulting from transactions between users
• Misrepresentation of skills, experience, or project requirements
• Any disputes arising from direct payment transactions outside our platform

Users acknowledge that they use the platform at their own risk and are responsible for conducting due diligence, verifying user identities, and using milestone-based payments to minimize risks.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
